Commitment to Students Sherman Jr./Sr. High School offers an after school program to assist students with academic success. The program is called, “Husky Helping Hands.” The program is offered every Thursday from 3:30-6:00 p.m. A certified teacher oversees the group with support from an Educational Assistant. The main goal and focus of this program is the improvement of grades as well as attaining skills necessary for future success at SJSHS. All students at SJSHS are invited to attend each session. Transportation home is provided through the school activity bus back to selected locations in Kent, Grass Valley, Moro, Wasco, Rufus and Biggs. Snacks are also available to students who participate in Husky Helping Hands. |
High ExpectationsOur school features a rich academic, athletic and co-curricular history. We offer many opportunities for each student to personalize their education and prepare for their future. In addition to the inspiration students will find in our programs, they will also discover a staff filled with passionate and dedicated educators committed to helping each student succeed. As students plan for their four-year course of study, they should keep in mind that the requirements listed below are a minimum. All students should follow an ambitious course of study in high school. Those who are planning to attend college or other advanced educational opportunities should pursue challenging academic programs, which often means taking more than the minimum required courses.

In addition, students will be required to meet Career-Related Graduation Requirements and Essential Skills. These requirements have been set by the State of Oregon.
